What would you do to bring someone to Jesus? Would you invite them to church? Maybe you would be content to let them observe your actions of godliness? Would you engage them in conversations of a spiritual nature, sharing with them the knowledge you have come to possess. Are you willing to give them the same opportunity for a home in Heaven that has been given you?
In the Gospel of Mark we see an example of what some men were willing to do to bring a friend to Jesus. Four men carried their friend to the presence of Jesus in the town of Capernaum. Upon their arrival they found that many others were there to see Jesus as well, so many that there was no room, even at the door for them to enter.
What to do! These resourceful men knew exactly what to do! They carried their friend to the roof, dug an opening and let him down through the hole into the presence of the One they knew could heal. Granted, they were seeking a physical healing, but what they received for their friend was even greater, for Jesus said, “My son, your sins are forgiven.” (vs. 5)
Don’t we all know people that we want to find Jesus, to become one of God’s children? I’m sure that is true with everyone that is reading this. The question is what are you willing to do? What will you do to aid them in finding Jesus, forgiveness and eventually a home with the Lord in Heaven?
